Ep. 46: From Serving Beer To Mogul Mom, This Is My Story Of How I Reshaped My Reality and Built A Million Dollar Beauty Brand In 3 Years
Before I became the successful million dollar business owner that you know me as now, I was like, Britney Spears circa 2007 when she shaved her head and walked around gas stations barefoot. Seriously.
Okay, I wasn't walking around the gas station barefoot. But I was struggling. I was lost. I didn't always have it figured out. I mean even when I started in PMU I wasn't sure I was doing the right thing, I just had to make it work.
I always share my business tips and tricks with you guys to help you create and grow the beauty business that you dream of, but I thought it was also time that I share my story with you. My friend, Nicole Nam, of the podcast Vibing In Valentino (I know, AMAZING name) had me on her show and asked me all kinds of questions about how I found PMU, what made me want to be an entrepreneur, how I hustled to make it work, and more. It was basically like a therapy session but with more laughter.

‣‣ [05:45] First, we start by talking about the beginning of my journey. From getting married young, getting divorced, becoming a waitress, getting fired, getting lost, to where I am now!
‣‣ [11:36] When I first started PMU I did NOT think it was for me. I know, crazy. But it was a totally different world when I was first introduced to it. I really had to turn it around myself. We talk about that discovery here.
‣‣ [16:45] When you're an entrepreneur you have to become comfortable with rejection. You have to anticipate it because it's going to happen. You just can't let it stop you. Let's talk about my philosophy on rejection and growth because I think they go hand in hand.
‣‣ [17:58] We talk about taking action and putting in the work to succeed. You're never going to get to where you want to be if you're not actually putting in the work. I put in a lot of effort into learning how to do things like code my own website by scratch when I was getting started.
‣‣ [24:35] Self-promotion gets a bad rep. But it's really your key to success. You're your number one supporter. If you can't promote yourself, who's going to do it for you? SOCIAL MEDIA IS YOUR BEST FRIEND.
‣‣ [32:21] I share the biggest lesson I learned when growing my own business, and my warning to anyone trying to build their brand.
