A Letter From Sheila

I don't come from money, I didn't marry into money, I have no college degree, and I'm not particularly smart, lucky, or talented. I was fired from my job as a server at one of those mini-skirt restaurants. I was discouraged, I was broke and sleeping on a mattress on the floor in a one bedroom apartment. Most of all, I was angry. I was angry with myself and I was angry with my circumstances. My entire life I was underestimated and dismissed. I am an immigrant, english is my second language, I was valued for how I look and not for what I have to say. I knew I had to make a change, so I took my anger and I channeled it.

I took my first microblading class in 2010, I sat in the back and I kept myself as quiet and invisible as possible - I wanted to blend in. When I started my permanent makeup business, like you, I had no idea what I was doing and I made a lot of expensive and painful mistakes. My friends and family didn't believe in me and told me to "get a real job" or to "marry a rich man". I plugged my ears and persevered. I did it messy. I did it scared. I did it anyways. Within 3 years I built a million-dollar beauty business. At the height of my PMU career with two Beverly Hills locations, two dozen artists and a 400 person live event I lost it all overnight in March of 2020. 

Again, I was forced to pivot. I borrowed money I didn't have and I hired a business coach. Within 6 months I built my second multi-million dollar business - my online coaching program Pretty Rich Bosses. Since that time I have helped several hundred artists, like you, grow and scale their businesses from less than $5,000 per month to multiple 6 & 7 figures.

My message to you is that you and I are more alike than we are different, and if I can do it so can you. It took me 28 years to start believing in myself, believing that I had what it takes and believing hat I can make something of myself and make a difference in the world. I believe in you too. I believe that you have what it takes and I believe that you can make a difference.
