Ep. 148: BUSINESS, FRIENDSHIPS & SELF VALUE; HOW IT AFFECTS YOUR BEAUTY BUSINESS WITH MICROBLADER AND PMU ARTIST SHEILA BELLA

"My question is: is a life not expressed much of a life at all?"

One of the most important elements to becoming a successful entrepreneur in the beauty industry is knowing your worth. Your sense of self-value is key.

All of us are scared, all of us are afraid of judgment. But if you surround yourself with true friends that really lift you up and support you, then you'll find that you're able to achieve a lot more than you ever could when you were on your own. Everyone is afraid of being judged - but it's that fear that's actually holding you back.

In this episode, we're going to jump into how business, friendship, and self-value are all tied together and how they impact you as a beauty entrepreneur. I'm also going to share how you can learn to embrace who you are and stop holding back so that you can build the business of your dreams, and ultimately live a better life.

Here are the episode highlights:

‣‣  [04:01]  What have I learned from forming deep connections with people in the beauty industry?

‣‣  [04:41]  What are we so afraid of?

‣‣  [05:43]  What kind of life are we living if we're not fully expressing ourselves?

Sheila Bella:

You know, life is about quality relationships. Lukewarm relationships need sugarcoating, but the ones who are truly for you, like your ride or die people, you'll never be able to get rid of. Today we're examining our self value and how it shows up in our friendships. Not just that, but our businesses as well. Keep it locked right here on Pretty Rich Podcast. Welcome to Pretty Rich Podcast where you're totally the heroine of your own story. I'm your host, Sheila Bella and I built a seven figure PMU beauty biz, and a seven figure online biz without a degree, without a fancy website or a sugar daddy. And if you and I hang out on here long enough, you're going to start to believe that you can do it too. How about that for a side effect of listening to this podcast. Because you really can. I know you think I don't know you, I have no idea who you are, but I do. I really, really do because I am you. I was you and I believe we are all on the same journey together.

My perfect job didn't exist so I created it. The job I wanted, wasn't hurting me, wanted nothing to do with me. So I skipped the line and hired myself as CEO, just like you can. So consider me your secret beauty biz, BFF in case you need to be reminded on a weekly basis that power is never just handed to you, you have to take it. Are you ready beauty boss? Let's jump in.

What's up you guys? As always, I have a really good one for you. Welcome to another amazing episode of Pretty Rich Podcast. And today in this mini episode, we're going to talk all about self belief, self value and how that shows up surprisingly in our friendships, in our businesses, in our everyday decisions. But before we get into today's topic, I wanted to know, are you on a texting relationship with me? Are we on a text basis yet? If not, we need to get on that because I have been sending some pretty cool inspirational messages lately, inspirational and motivational and tactical with those whose phone number I have and I text with. So if you and I's are still not on a texting basis yet, I thought we were closer than that. What's going on? I need you to text me (310) 388 4588, (310) 388 4588. And honestly, this number is the number that goes on my phone you guys, you can text me anything.

You can text me business questions. You can text me when you're having another meltdown or your first meltdown or your 10th meltdown. You can text me about your challenges. You can text me about your goals. I really love connecting with you guys. And for me, my new favorite way to communicate with you is through text because you might listen to this podcast and think like, oh, this is a one-way relationship. I never want to be to just talking at people. I want to know what you guys are all about. From what I've gotten, from what I've gotten from you, I feel like this community is so beautiful. I've had really awesome conversations with some of you, really deep and awesome conversations. I've made a lot of friends with you guys that I've never really met you guys in person. I've just met you through this podcast or through my platform. And what I've learned from having, I don't like surface conversations honestly, what I've learned from having deeper conversations with people and asking them better questions is that we're all the same. We all just want to be loved and we're all scared.

We're all scared to just put it out there. And the reasons vary, but the result of our societal programming in our childhood is the same, it's fear. And I know this community is full of women who value relationships. You value relationships right? And you might be like I am, a recovering people pleaser. You don't want to rock the boat. Last time you did it was bad and now you're programmed to avoid conflict. If you're afraid to have the talk with your partner because you don't want to fight, we've all been there. Are you scared to share what you're actually passionate about on social media because you're afraid of being misunderstood or you're afraid of criticism, even though this thing is just eating you up inside? What's another thing? People are fearful of telling their friends that they were actually hurt by something they said, because they'd rather not go there, they don't want them to get mad.

The fear of confrontation keeps you from living out your true self. This is something that I've learned unfortunately, the hard way. So my question is, is a life not expressed much of a life at all? Are those fragile relationships that you're trying to preserve just keeping you from deeper and more fulfilling ones? Because if you're all about relationships, like you say you are and you value them, then be real. I've realized that we only get to do this earth thing once, make it count, quit hiding. When you hide, you lose. And those fights that you're so afraid of, that judgment, that criticism, that criticism that you keep dodging at all costs, that's just information. Information you need to live a life that's truly free because you can never lose with authenticity.

The faster you find out who people really are, the better. So be who you actually are too. And don't be afraid to say it out loud. Be bold, say what you're thinking, express how you're actually feeling because life isn't just about feeling good and keeping the peace. It should be about expression. It should be about creating impact and finding who your people truly are. Life is about, to me, life is about quality relationships the most because lukewarm relationships don't need sugarcoating, but the ones who are truly there for you, your ride or die people, you'll never be able to get rid of. I've found that my circle, it is expanding and in some ways not. I am just, the older I get, the more I pursue quality over quantity. I would rather 1 true rider die than 10. To me that's more fulfilling.

Do you want more clients? Do you want more customers or students for your training? Do you want to build a profitable online beauty business that teaches other people how to do what you do? I know you know that I'm the host of this program, but what you may not know is that I have built two multiple seven figure beauty businesses. One, a permanent makeup studio and the other, a profitable online business. And both of them make six figures a month. And I am on a mission to help every woman I meet do the same thing. My mentorship program, Pretty Rich Bosses, is pretty incredible. It's my online mentorship program where it's one-on-one and it's also group. It's something that I've built to help beauty entrepreneurs just like you, find their way to success so that they can meet their highest potential. And if you're wondering if this is going to work for you, if you're wondering, is this a scam? Don't just take it from me. Listen to these incredible testimonials from real students currently in the program.

So you have a responsibility right now after hearing all this to make the most out of this life, to be true to yourself and your soul's calling. Your self-expression because, and here's what I've found too. Someone who is willing to accept scraps of love from friends or their partner is probably also the type of person to lower their prices easily in business. A lot of people accept less in their relationships because at least they can be miserable and certain instead of uncertain and possibly happy. It all boils down to risk and self value. Let me say that again. It all boils down to risk and self value. Self value. I truly believe that before I can help anybody build a business successfully, the first step is to assess their personal assessment of what their worth, their self-worth because your self-belief shows up in every big and tiny decision that you make.

If you don't believe you're worthy of something special in one area, you're going to sell yourself short in every other area as well. We tolerate what we believe we deserve. And many times being miserable is so much more comfortable than being uncertain. People don't want to quit their jobs for fear of the unknown. And people don't want to break up with someone that they're not even that into because they're afraid of change. They're afraid of change and so they end up just having a lukewarm everything. And what you need to realize is that letting go of something, a thought, a belief, a bad relationship, a job, a friend, a follower even. That isn't saying goodbye, you're just making room for something more real, something better. You're making room for great. So ask yourself, where in your life do you think you're accepting less than what you know you deserve? Where in your life is your lack of self belief and self value showing up aside from just that thing?

I'm going to leave you with that and if you have a thought or a breakthrough to share, make sure you text me about it or send me a DM on Instagram @realsheilabella, you know where it's at.
