Yes, it's true, I'm pregnant. I'm 17 weeks pregnant at the time of recording this and I'm so happy to finally share this with you. I just wanted to make sure that it was shared in a way that was really special, and also this is my third and probably final pregnancy! I just really wanted to enjoy it.

BUT that's not all the exciting stuff I have to share with you! Uh uh.

Here are the episode highlights:

‣‣  [01:49]  Let's talk about the fact that I'M PREGNANT!!!!!

‣‣  [10:09]  The advice trainers give you when you graduate is well-meaning but...ultimately incomplete.

‣‣  [14:37]  There are four common problems I see among artists in the beauty industry: you need more clients, you need more students, you've realized you need to pivot online, or you need to build a team.

‣‣  [17:45]  A lot of people have negative connotations with building wealth like it makes you money OBSESSED and greedy. So I want to share a different perspective here and why I think building wealth is important.

‣‣  [19:11]  Let's simplify the problems in your business.

Sheila Bella:

I have so much to rant about today, but in no particular order. But the very first thing I need to tell you is that I'm pregnant. Woohoo! Third baby boy. No way. Oh my gosh. So funny. And I feel so blessed, you guys. Here we go, Pretty Rich Podcast.

Welcome to Pretty Rich Podcast, where you're totally the heroine of your own story. I'm your host, Sheila Bella and I built a seven figure PMU beauty biz and a seven figure online biz, without a degree, without a fancy website or a sugar daddy. And if you and I hang out on here long enough, you're going to start to believe that you can do it too. How about that for a side effect of listening to this podcast? Because you really can. I know you think I don't know you, I have no idea who you are, but I do. I really, really do because I am you. I was you. And I believe we are all on the same journey together. My perfect job didn't exist, so I created it. The job I wanted wasn't hiring me, wanted nothing to do with me, so I skipped the line and hired myself as CEO, just like you can. Consider me your secret beauty biz BFF, in case you need to be reminded on a weekly basis that power is never just handed to you, you have to take it. Are you ready, beauty boss? Let's jump in.

What's up, you guys? Welcome to another amazing episode of Pretty Rich Podcast. Number one, I'm going to start with a little bit of a life update. A little bit of a life update. Yeah, a little bit, a lot bit. I'm pregnant. I am 17 weeks pregnant with my third son and I found out actually a little bit before Christmas, but I just didn't want to say anything just yet and it's not even because I think the reason why a lot of women keep it under wraps in the first trimester is because there's a high risk of miscarriage. That really wasn't even it. I just really wanted to tell you in a special way. And I also didn't want it to be the focus of my platform. If you follow me on Instagram stories, you know that I'm all about the beauty business tips and the marketing tips and also I was really nauseous.

I'm in my second trimester now, so I'm feeling much, much better. But I was really nauseous and I didn't feel like sharing. Period. This is, I think it's going to be my last pregnancy. I'm pretty sure. I just turned 39, I'm pretty sure it's going to be my last pregnancy, but I wanted to kind of really enjoy this, do it the way I really want. And to be honest with you, this is the best pregnancy I've ever had in terms of the way I feel. I know I told you guys that I was nauseous, but this is the least amount of nausea I've ever had and this is my third pregnancy. And also I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I'm really watching what I'm eating. I'm not dieting. I'm not dieting. But I've learned a lot over the years about how best to take care of my body and nourish my body. This is the cleanest I've ever eaten too, so I have to say it makes a huge difference.

I have to say though, that that fatigue is real, especially in that first trimester. It is real. Speaking of reels, I was doing reels in that first trimester and I was just so tired, even just holding up my phone I was like, I need to sit down. I need to catch my breath. It's real. And it's been a while since I've been pregnant last, so I think I just forgot. I'm going to do a whole podcast on this pregnancy experience, but I just wanted to give you guys the happy news really quickly, but I do have a lot more to say about what this pregnancy means to me on a deeper level. Thank you so much for all of the social media love and the messages that I've been getting congratulating me for baby number three. I announced it by posting a photo, if you haven't seen it yet, on my Instagram page of me wearing nothing but underwear in the desert and it was taken by a really good friend of mine, Rey Trajano, he's a glamor and boudoir photographer on Instagram, he's @thephotographer.

And he took it for me because there is a big publication, there's a big magazine that interviewed me just in the last couple of weeks and they wanted a picture, a sexy picture to go along with it and I was like, "I'm not really feeling sexy right now, Rey." And Rey was the one who took a bunch of my sexy pictures when I was younger, in my twenties, and he was like, "Yeah, we can do that. We can do it. Let's do it. Pregnant women are sexy." And I was like, "All right, let's do it." And I'm so happy I did. I didn't think I could pull that off, honestly, but I was really happy with the images. And I was just like, why not? Why not? If not now, then when? I'm 39, come on.

Let me give you guys a little bit of an inside story, so if you look at that photo, look on @realsheilabella, scroll to the picture that I posted on March 8th, International Women's Day and also my birthday and you see this crown that I have on my head and it's this beautiful golden crown that I ordered from Etsy and it was $400 or $500 for that whole set. And I believe it's the same designer as Khloe Kardashian's crown that she did for another photo shoot that she did. Anyway, it's just this designer that a lot of Los Angeles celebrities buy from.

I got the crown and I was like, "Oh wow, this is really ornate. This is really beautiful," and then I took a closer look and I flipped it around. Guys, it's made out of zip ties. What? Yes. Zip ties, like from Home Depot, but you never know it. Here I am, butt naked in the desert, wearing my crown o' zip ties, and you know what? I've never felt hotter. I couldn't believe it. The craftsmanship is incredible and to think they charged hundreds of dollars for this thing. I still believe it's worth it, but that's really turning trash into treasure. It looks great. You never know. I just thought from an entrepreneurial perspective, it was really inspiring.

Do you want more clients? Do you want more customers or students for your training? Do you want to build a profitable online beauty business that teaches other people how to do what you do? I know you know that I'm the host of this program, but what you may not know is that I've built two multiple seven figure beauty businesses. One, a permanent makeup studio and the other, a profitable online business and both of them make six figures a month. And I'm on a mission to help every woman I meet do the same thing.

My mentorship program, Pretty Rich Bosses, is pretty incredible. It's my online mentorship program where it's one on one and it's also group. It's something that I've built to help beauty entrepreneurs just like you, find their way to success so that they can meet their highest potential. And if you're wondering if this is going to work for you, you're wondering is this a scam? Don't just take it from me, listen to these incredible testimonials from real students currently in the program.

Speaker 2:

I was able to quit my corporate job and I quadrupled my income since then.

Speaker 3:

Pretty Rich Bosses has taught me how to make more money than I've ever dreamed of, in the middle of a pandemic.

Speaker 4:

I went from homelessness to $88,000.

Speaker 5:

I was able sell enough courses in two weeks to make my full six month program investment back.

Speaker 6:

Because of Sheila, in my first few weeks I closed five clients in my coaching program and not even in microblading.

Speaker 7:

The honest sales strategies have led to the most bookings I have ever had.

Speaker 8:

I got to tell you, last week I made 5K working from home and not even launching my freaking full courses yet.

Sheila Bella:

All right, so aside from my pregnancy announcement, I wanted to chat with you guys about so many things on my mind today. Things about building wealth and the real reason why everyone wants to build wealth or why you should want to build wealth. And also I wanted to simplify your business problems. Everyone has business problems, but I have been able to simplify all the problems into three different categories and we're going to chat about that in just a minute.

But first I wanted to talk about the advice that they give you when you first graduate cosmetology or get your license as a PMU artist or graduate lash training, just all of it. Just the crazy advice that they give you, especially well meaning trainers, who are great at teaching the craft and probably have a successful business, but let's be honest, imparting that knowledge of how to build a business is a whole nother ball game. Trainers can't just give you a few tips at the end of class and that's it. It's not going to be as effective, to be honest. And a lot of trainers can't articulate why they're even successful. Truly. They give advice like post brow pics on social media every day or lash photos. Just post on social media every day. They say, "Hand out business cards." That's my favorite. They say, "Always have business cards with you, hand them out to at least three people every day."

And then another one is they teach you to run ads, and a lot of people think that just telling people to throw money into ads is automatically going to give you a successful business. But that couldn't be further from the truth, because if you don't know how to sell organically, you're not going to convert those leads that the marketing money and ads brings in. You're not going to be able to do it. The advice might be to join a more established online academy so that you can become a trainer faster, because everybody knows that the money is in training, so they give you advice and tell you to join a more established online academy with more followers and they built the course and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. It doesn't mean that you're going to sell. You still need to sell.

Listen, when I decided to start a career tattooing fricking faces gangster style and when I decided to start a career tattooing faces 11 years ago, people had a lot of things to say. And they had more to say once I started training too. And if you're new, a lot of you are new right now, you're new, you're in the game, maybe you just found this account, you just found my podcast. If you're new to the PMU and lash game or let's say you're somebody who has been doing it for a while and then now you want to get into training, you've probably heard all of those things too. But as someone who has a successful permanent makeup studio and a successful online beauty business, all of this wisdom, I'll just say it, yes, I have it. When I hear other people giving advice, it feels so cliche to me.

And I believe that this advice, giving out business cards, posting on social media every day, I think it's incomplete. And I think it would be doing you guys a disservice to tell you that it's complete. It's not complete. It doesn't work. It's not all you need. The first thing you really need to do is you need to build an audience. You need to learn how to build an audience first, because if you don't, it's like singing for an empty theater, but I wouldn't wait to grow your following to any specific number before you take sales seriously. You need to do both simultaneously. And if you don't know how to build an audience and to ramp up your sales simultaneously, that's not your fault. It's not. Why? Because last time I checked, trainers don't spend a ton of time focused on teaching marketing and sales in their training and frankly, it's just not their focus.

But marketing and sales is the multimillion dollar difference between an artist, a beautician, with a profitable business and a beautician with zero. An artist that invests in marketing and business training, as well as good artistry, wins. You need both. You definitely need both. If you're already in the beauty industry, you have one out of the four of these problems guaranteed.

Number one, you need more clients.

Number two, you need more students.

Number three, you realize that you need to go online or pivot online, whether that's developing a product or an online program because COVID has taught you, oh, I can't depend on just my online business.

Or the last one is you need to build a team. And you know that you're out of time. You can't service everybody yourself and now it's time to scale. It's now it's time to expand. It's either one of those four issues.

Now the whole reason why we want to fix these business problems, what does it come down to? It comes down to wealth. Wealth buys you freedom. And the more options you have, the more freedom you have. And I know a lot of you are like, oh, but it's not about the money. I just really love the art. Nobody says that you need to be money obsessed. No, that's not what it's about. Guys, I have a friend, we, my husband and I have a friend and he is one of those guys, super Christian, not money driven whatsoever. I really like him a lot. I love the guy. He's like my brother. And he always talks about how God will provide. It's true. I believe God will provide. And because of that, he lives a pretty awesome lifestyle. He doesn't stress out too much. Sometimes I fantasize about being him sometimes. Oh, you are a so relaxed. This is amazing. Sometimes I'm like, oh, if I could just be you for one day?

But I don't know. I'm not built like that. And so the other day he came to us with a situation. He says that his parents are losing their home. And basically his parents were able to put together some money and they bought a motor home. But now their issue is where to live still. There's a lot of RV parks out there and they're not free. He says that he's really worried about them. And he's calling around to see, he's looking for driveways basically where his parents could literally park at for a month or two. This is the guy that's not worried about money.

And we said to him like, "Okay, so I know we have different philosophies when it comes to building wealth, or slightly different philosophies." Part of the reason why me, I am so focused on wealth building and expanding and scaling and security is because of situations such as these. I said, "Brother, wouldn't it be great if you could call in your mom and dad and tell them, 'Hey, I just booked you three months at Malibu RV park. You guys have ocean front access to this RV park for the next three months. You don't have to worry about it. Here you go.' Wouldn't that feel really good?"

If you are a good person and you know that you could help the world and there are people that you want to bless with resources like that when they're strapped, who've been good to you, your whole life, yeah, that's really motivating for me. I want to be able to say that. It makes me feel so helpless to not be able to say that. That's why I work so hard to be able to say that because I know what it's like to be poor. Yeah, fixing your business issues boils down to wealth building, which is directly related to that inner desire of yours to provide for people that you love. That's what it is like for me. Is that the same for you guys? I'm sure it is. For a lot of successful people that are super driven, I've talked to them, yes, it's the same for them too.

Now let's talk about problems in your business. It boils down to three categories. That's it. It's either lead generation, you're not getting enough eyes on your business. You're not getting enough inquiries, the phone isn't ringing. Lead conversion, maybe the phone is ringing, they are expressing interest, but you're not selling. Or the last category would be fulfillment. Either your process isn't good enough or maybe you don't have enough time, you don't have enough manpower, you don't have enough resources. It's just those three problems. Lead generation, lead conversion and fulfillment. That's it. Those three categories.

If something in your business isn't going well, just know that it falls under one of those three things. You don't have to look everywhere. Just look at those three places. Okay, sales are a little low, where is the problem? Is it lead generation? Or is it lead conversion? Are we getting the leads but we're not closing it? Or we have a ton of leads, a ton of sales, but not enough manpower to fulfill. And it's the same for every business, you guys. It doesn't matter what you're selling. It's one of those three things forever and ever and ever and ever and ever. Let me say that again. Lead generation, lead conversion or fulfillment. If all of those three categories are working properly like a well oiled machine, you have success. You have freedom. Congratulations.

And businesses ebb and flow. Some months are slower than others. It's just kind of how it is. And this kind of training, this kind of thing, how to get those leads, how to close those leads and how to fulfill efficiently without it breaking you as a human being, because you're the one doing everything, all of those issues are what Pretty Rich Bosses solves.

Guys, I'm just going to read to you some of the testimonials from my program. This girl, she screenshotted her freaking Square account. Monthly gross sales, $20,944 February 2021. Shortest month of the year and she grows 20K and she says, "I don't share this image to brag. I share it because I've been all the feels this week. This time last year, it was becoming very apparent that I was going to have to shut down my permanent makeup business for a few weeks. I felt secure. I had my part time job to fall back on. Then in April, I was laid off from my nursing job for one month because Vermont had the lowest COVID numbers in the country. I was devastated. Both my career and identities were instantly gone. I had to file for unemployment, but for the first time in my life, I could only get unemployment for one job. How would that replace my expected monthly income from two sources? Answer, it wouldn't."

She says, "I took these lessons from Pretty Rich Bosses and I spent my entire three month quarantine growing my business and I came back stronger than ever." And then she says this, types this in all caps, "Pretty Rich Bosses taught me how to sell my services. Pretty Rich Bosses taught me how to sell my trainings. Pretty Rich Bosses taught me how to sell for the rest of my life." Oh my gosh. That gives me chills reading that, that something I've built, my program has helped somebody to that degree. She says, "For life." The skill of sales is something you can take with you forever and ever.

I read a quote the other day, talks about how wealth is freedom. And at the same time, real wealth is your value without any of the money. How much are your skills worth? And are your skills valuable if you can't sell it? No, skills are only valuable if people will pay for it, if you can sell it. This is something that I see beauty entrepreneurs struggle with and skip all the time is the sales training. If sales training is something you've never gotten as a beauty entrepreneur, take a chance, book a strategy call with us. See what this is about. Let's figure out the bottleneck in your business.

How you book a strategy call with us is you just need to go to sheilabella.com/apply, sheilabella.com/apply. I throw that link out there because I am so passionate. I'm on a mission to create millionaires everywhere. I want beauty business owners who've been underestimated their whole lives to realize that the power was with them all along. Just like Dorothy, from the Wizard of Oz, the power was with you all along. All you need to do is click your heels three times, girl. Why are you so depressed? You have the power. You just need to use it. You have your wealth kit, you have your money kit, you're just not using it. You don't know how to use it. And that's what PRB is all about. It's definitely a skill I want to teach my kids. I think everyone should have the skill of sales. Everyone should have the skill of being able to print money. Broke? Okay. Have wifi? No problem. You'll be good.

Thank you for sharing this time with me in this super honest conversation. These are my thoughts right before I go to bed. I am just so passionate about introducing the highest version of you to you. Just like I realized it for myself years ago, that feeling is indescribable. That feeling of competence is indescribable. What are you waiting for? When something is wrong in your life or in your business, you can either leave it, accept it or change it. Are you going to change it? The first step is to inquire. Go to sheilabella.com/apply And let's make this year the year where everything changed for the better. Love you guys. Till next time.
