So when my husband came up to me one day, all excited, with this CRAZY physical challenge that he wanted to do...well I had to remind myself of our motto.

Will has decided to do the David Goggins challenge. This means he's going to be running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours.

I think one of the top things new entrepreneurs forget about when starting their businesses is self-awareness. We've got big plans, big dreams, and we don't feel like we have time to do any deep reflection into ourselves. We know what we want, we know pretty much the steps we need to take to get there, what more do we need?

The thing is - the best entrepreneurs, the ones who are the most successful, are the ones who truly know themselves. Because to be successful you have to know your weaknesses. You have to know your strengths too, of course. But if you're blind to your weaknesses then you're going to have a lot of weaknesses in your business as well that you're not aware of. And those weaknesses are either going to slow you down or bring you down.

I see too many entrepreneurs in the beauty industry that aren't focusing on SALES. Because we have all of these false narratives and myths in our heads around sales; how salespeople are pushy, rude, sneaky, manipulative, etc., etc.

But if you aren't focusing on sales...how are you going to sell? You know? And if you're not selling then how exactly are you making money?

I think we all need to focus on sales more because, to me, sales is the root of everything. It's not just about making more money -- it's about living a better life.

Sometimes you have to fall to get where you're really supposed to be.

Do you ever look back at a moment in your life that was really hard, a moment where you just wanted the ground to open and swallow you up because it was so deeply humiliating -- and realize that moment was pivotal to who you are now?

It's so crazy to me how moments like that can really build us. Like, they can break us for a moment, but we rise up better than we were before.

Just before I found PMU, I hit rock bottom. I had just gotten fired, I had just gotten a divorce, I had no college education and no real sense of self. I was, you know, a broke bitch. I think a lot of the time it's easy for you to look at me where I am now and think I've always had all of this. But that couldn't be further from the truth!

So in this episode, we're going to explore my past a bit and remember where it all began. Because trust me if I can do this you can too.
